Swedish Gambling Inspectorate calls for new ad limitations in Market Inquiry response

The Swedish Gambling Inspectorate (Spelinspektionen) has agreed with certain recommendations. For instance, further limits on ads in the country’s Gambling Market Inquiry, but has objected to others. Also including a permanent SEK5000 deposit cap on slot machines.

The regulator supported proposals such as a license for software providers and ad limits. But it argued to research loss limit further before implementing it. They should also apply to multiple high-risk forms of gambling rather than just one.

The Inspectorate added, “It should also supplement a loss limit with mandatory indication of login time.”

Also, the Inspectorate stated that requiring “particular moderation” in advertising would be a positive step toward enforcing responsible gambling.
