Okada Foundation donates mobile clinics worth US$645k for Parañaque community healthcare

Okada Foundation Inc says it has donated two fully-equipped mobile clinic vehicles valued in total at circa PHP39.6 million (US$645,000) to boost healthcare accessibility – including community-based services – within Parañaque in Metro Manila.

The foundation is the charitable arm of the Okada Manila casino resort in the Philippine capital. The vehicles were handed over for use by Ospital ng Parañaque Districts 1 and 2, in a recent ceremony.

Attendees included Parañaque City’s mayor, Edwin L. Olivarez, and Okada Manila board director, Mitsukazu Nakata.

James Lorenzana, Okada Foundation president was also present, and was cited in a press release saying the body was “proud to support the city government of Parañaque in bringing timely, reliable, and essential medical services to more communities”.

This was “especially critical for those in far-flung barangays [neighbourhoods], where access to routine check-ups, early diagnosis, and preventive care remains limited due to distance, mobility constraints, and the lack of nearby medical facilities,” stated Okada Foundation.

The mobile clinics are said to have “essential” medical equipment including X-ray machines, and ultrasound and blood chemistry analysis technology. Each unit also offers its own examination room, and the vehicles each have a power generator and air-conditioning.

“Through these units, medical teams can deliver on-site consultations, minor treatments, and preventive care, allowing more residents to receive timely and appropriate medical attention within their own communities,” the foundation said.

It added: “Through initiatives like this, Okada Foundation Inc continues to support stronger and more responsive local healthcare systems by bringing essential services closer today and helping build a more accessible and resilient future for Filipino communities.”
