Casino Workers Vaccination Started On Monday

AtlantiCare said that The COVID-19 vaccination of Casino employees started on Monday. The vaccination center was Atlantic County COVID-19 vaccination mega center.

Jennifer Tornetta, the AtlantiCare spokeswoman, made the announcement. She said Governor Phil Murphy has opened up eligibility to hospitality workers across the state as of Monday.

The Casino Association of New Jersey, AtlantiCare, and Unite Here Local 54 are working together. The goal is to vaccinate approximately 25,000 casino workers by Memorial Day. Tornetta said.

CEO of AtlantiCare Lori Herndon was happy on this occasion. He said that getting our local workers vaccinated is vital for protecting our community. It will establish a safe environment for visitors.

The largest Casino Worker Union is Unite Here Local 54. It is working closely with healthcare provider AtlantiCare to provide vaccination. The company and the State of New Jersey will receive an additional supply of vaccines day by day for casino workers, Tornetta added.

The casino workers who wish to get the vaccine would receive this extra vaccine supply. The goal is to get their vaccination completed by Memorial Day, told Tornetta.

Mario Guzman is a server at the Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa. He was the first casino employee vaccinated through the deal.

Tornetta informed the press that Guzman has worked in the casino sector for over 20 years. He has three young children.

Guzman was thankful. After vaccination, he said, I will be back to work at Borgata in June. I am very grateful to get the vaccine, thanks to my union and AtlantiCare. Also, I am thankful to the casino industry and the Governor of New Jersey. I am so glad to go back to work. I can keep the customers safe now.

Patti Cianci of Somers Point was the second worker to receive the vaccine. Since March 2020, he was out of work. He returned to work on Labor Day. Cianci has worked as a cocktail server at Bally Atlantic City Hotel and Casino for 41 years.

Cianci said: The closing 12 months have been difficult for my family. For a year, I have met no close family member. I am so happy to get the COVID vaccine today. I am looking ahead to work and keeping all safe.

It is an excellent partnership between industry and the community. In the past 25 years of my presidentship, Atlantic City will be the safest gaming venue in the United States. Bob McDevitt said in a statement.

Tornetta said that Casinos have made known all the steps from registration to getting vaccinated to their workers. For online registration, Casino employees will receive a unique password.

It will also require employees to show casino or Local 54 identification to gain admittance to the vaccination site.

The process will administer at the Atlantic County Regional COVID-19 Vaccination Center.

AtlantiCare is now giving 4,000 vaccines per day. It has already administered over 140,000 doses since the site launched on January 22. Tornetta said.

The President of the Casino Association of New Jersey stated on this occasion. He said that our primary focus is the health and safety of our employees and guests. The COVID-19 vaccine is the only way to protect our employees against this lethal virus.
