The New York State Comptroller’s Office stated more than a year since its initial report, four casinos owe the Gaming Commission $13 million in past oversight fees. They charged the fees between April 2017 and March 2019.
The Comptroller’s Office further released a report claiming that the Gaming Commission failed to collect fees from four casinos. They were Rivers Casino & Resort, Lago Resort & Casino, Resorts World, and Tioga Downs Casino.
In November 2019, it billed the casinos $9.3 million for the oversight fees and granted until December 2019 to pay. According to the Comptroller’s report, the Gaming Commission has yet to receive any of the billed fees as of May.
