Irish bookmakers have agreed to a ban on credit card use online and in stores for Irish customers. They have also banned a pre-watershed “whistle-to-whistle” advertising restriction for live sport.
The two initiatives are part of the Irish Bookmakers’ Association’s (IBA) new code of practice for safer gambling. It outlines a set of industry commitments across a range of player protection measures.
All IBA members, including Boylesports, Flutter Entertainment, the parent company of Paddy Power, and Entain, the parent company of Ladbrokes, will use the most recent version of the code.
Moreover, Bet365, Betway, and The Kindred Group are among the other major operators to adopt the code.
