According to The Times, a Ladbrokes customer is suing the bookmaker for failing to help him end his problem gambling.
Simon Rose has filed a High Court lawsuit against Ladbrokes’ parent firm Entain after it was claimed that they permitted him to lose $270,000 ($231,000) over the course of seven months of wagering between 2015 and 2016. His total stake was £1.8 million.
Despite receiving only £3,000 per month in take-home income, Rose wagered an average of £18,000 per day while gambling. He was also given a daily deposit of £20,000.
According to Rose’s High Court lawsuit, the gambling industry titan blatantly failed to safeguard its patrons from the negative effects of problem gambling while also breaking anti-money laundering laws.
