The top-70 players in the PGA Tour point standings will begin their quest to become the 2026 FedEx Cup championship winner next week in Memphis.
The three-tournament playoff format sees the field trimmed from 70 to 50 to 30 for the final event in Atlanta. Unlike past years, players won’t enter the playoffs with different starting stroke totals.
Previously, the top player would begin at -10 as part of a staggered points system based on their position in the point standings. All players will now begin at even par.
England’s Tommy Fleetwood is the defending champ, and we’ll do our best to forecast this year’s winner below, using odds from Polymarket.

Young has been formidable this season, winning twice and finishing with two near-misses in two major tournaments.

Last year’s playoff run started with a fifth-place finish at the St. Jude Classic, continued with an 11th-place result in the BMW Championship, and a T-4 finish in the Tour Championship.
With another stretch like that, and no points reset this year, that might just be good enough for Young to win his first PGA Title. If so, this is a nice price for a player on the rise, and almost equal to Fleetwood’s odds last year.
