Macau April casino GGR up 5.5pct y-o-y at US$2.46bln: govt


Casino gross gaming revenue (GGR) in Macau rose 5.5 percent year-on-year in April, to reach MOP19.89 billion (US$2.46 billion), according to data released on Friday by the city’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.

The April result was down 12.0 percent compared to March’s MOP22.61 billion.

The latest monthly data took the aggregate GGR for the first four months of the year to just under MOP85.77 billion, up 12.1 percent on the same period in 2025.

Banking institution Citigroup said in the April edition of its monthly survey of baccarat premium play in Macau, that the observed volume of the highest-value players – known in industry jargon as “whales” – rose 63.2 percent year-on-year, to 31, versus 19 in April last year.
