Mega Fortris launches mini library initiative at a school in Malaysia

Malaysia-based security-seal and packaging-product provider Mega Fortris Bhd has launched a community outreach initiative involving the creation of a “mini library” and shared learning space at SJK (C) Poi Min school in Selangor, on the west coast of peninsular Malaysia.

The project, branded “Shared Space, Shared Knowledge: A Mini Library For All”, was officially introduced during a May event at the school.

According to Mega Fortris, the initiative involved converting the school’s waiting area into a shared space incorporating a mini library aimed at “encouraging reading and continuous learning among students”.

The area is for pupils waiting on campus after school hours, the firm added.

The company said the project was inspired by two community factors: a lack of suitable onsite waiting areas for students after classes, and the fact many households had spare or unused books suitable for children.

Mega Fortris stated that the initiative seeks to extend the life cycle of educational materials while promoting environmental awareness through reuse practices.

The firm said the newly-established mini library is intended to serve as a space where students can read, learn and spend time productively, while reinforcing the company’s broader commitment to community development and sustainability initiatives.
