GLI has meetings in S.Korea with gaming regulatory officials

Gaming testing and certification specialist Gaming Laboratories International LLC (GLI) says it has had meetings in Seoul, South Korea, “with key stakeholders for regulatory and social policy across the South Korean casino and gaming industry”.

Per a social media posting, Richard Howarth (pictured centre, right), GLI’s managing director for Asia Pacific, and Paulo Batalha Da Silva (pictured centre, left), GLI’s regulatory development manager, “engaged with key leaders shaping the future of regulation, policy, and certification”.

The update said discussions with the National Gambling Control Commission’s secretary general, Lee Jin-sik, looked at “refining best practices in regulatory standards and strengthening certification frameworks for casino products and systems”.

GLI also noted that conversations with Kyung Hee University’s Professor Seo Wonseok “brought valuable academic insights into the evolving regulatory landscape”.

The firm further stated that engagements with the Korea Casino Association, an industry trade body, including with Lee Jeong-Haeng, general manager, and Sang Hwa Lee, assistant manager, “focused on how South Korean casinos can continue advancing responsible gambling initiatives, product certification processes, and system performance standards”.

The testing and certification organisation added: “These meetings reinforce GLI’s commitment to supporting regulators, industry bodies, and academic partners as they work toward a safer, more innovative gaming environment.”
