VIP live baccarat revenue jumps 35pct y-o-y in 1Q for Macau market, slot GGR up 22pct


Macau’s VIP live-table baccarat segment generated gross gaming revenue (GGR) of nearly MOP19.56 billion (US$2.43 billion) in the first quarter of 2026, up 35.4 percent year-on-year, but down 3.6 percent sequentially from fourth-quarter 2025.

VIP baccarat was 29.7 percent of all first-quarter GGR from games of fortune, compared to 25.1 percent of GGR in the first three months of 2025. In the fourth quarter last year, VIP baccarat was 30.7 percent of all GGR.

That is according to data released on Thursday by the city’s casino regulator, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.

The aggregate GGR for the first quarter stood at MOP65.87 billion, up 14.3 percent on the same period in 2025, the regulator had disclosed earlier this month.

Slot machine GGR in the Macau market in the three months to March 31 was MOP3.98 billion, up 21.6 percent from the prior-year period, and up 9.6 percent quarter-on-quarter.

Slot GGR represented a market share of 6.0 percent of all revenue from games of fortune for the January to March period.

The live multi-game electronic product category’s first-quarter GGR went up 3.5 percent year-on-year, to nearly MOP1.26 billion, and up by 0.2 percent sequentially.

GGR in the mass-market casino gambling segment – including slot machine play – stood at just under MOP46.30 billion in Macau in the three months to March 31, up 7.2 percent on the prior-year period.

Judged sequentially, the mass-market tally for first-quarter 2026 was up 1.2 percent on fourth-quarter 2025’s MOP45.75 billion, showed official data.

First-quarter revenue from mass-market baccarat, at nearly MOP36.56 billion, was 55.5 percent of total Macau GGR for the period. Year-on-year the mass baccarat tally was up 6.5 percent on first-quarter 2025’s MOP34.32 billion. Quarter on quarter, mass baccarat was up 0.9 percent.
