PIX, AI, and digital wallets take centre stage at SBC Summit Americas’ LatAm payments & tech track

Pix, digital wallets, and embedded finance are forcing Latin America’s gaming industry into a new phase of competition. With operators increasingly judged on payment experience as much as product offering,SBC Summit Americas will explore the new reality through its “LATAM Payments & Tech” track.

Taking place on Wednesday, June 10, at the Broward County Convention Center, the program offers delegates the chance to hear directly from leading operators, fintech and payment providers, and regulators from across the Americas.

The track forms part of SBC Summit Americas’ six-stage conference agenda covering sports betting and casino, affiliation, leadership, player protection, and regulation, with each stage alternating between North and Latin America across the two days.

“What makes Latin America such an exciting market right now is how naturally technology has become part of everyday life. People are used to instant payments, seamless apps, and digital experiences that simply work. Those expectations are carrying over into gaming as well,” said Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC

“That is creating a major shift for operators. Payments, user experience, and player engagement are no longer separate conversations because together they shape how players experience a brand. The LATAM Payments & Tech track explores how those worlds are starting to merge.”

The session ‘Wallet wars: Changing the LatAM Landscape’ will look at how wallet ecosystems such as Mercado Pago and Rappi are reshaping mobile commerce across Latin America. Experts Juan Flores (CEO, Payefy), Mariola de la Piedra Quelle (CMO, Grupo Gelsa) and Carlos Sandoval (Chairman & CEO, Apuesteria) will debate whether operators should integrate with these established platforms or move toward in-house financial services that are directly tied to the gaming experience.

Taking a closer look at Brazil’s payment landscape, the panel ‘PIX: Instant Payments’ will explore how Pix has transformed payment behavior in the country. Speakers Rony Silva (CTO, Aposta Ganha), Paulo Chastinet (CAO, Segurobet), Marc Crean (CPO, Todos Querem Jogar), and Thomas Carvalhaes (iGaming Expert) will analyze how instant payments have reshaped player expectations around speed and convenience, while also discussing how operators can incorporate emerging features such as PIX Automático.

The session ‘Tech Titans: How Innovation is Powering the Next Digital Frontierbroadens the conversation to examine how tech, gaming, and e-commerce are driving the next phase of Latin America’s digital economy. Industry leaders Javier Troncoso (CEO & Co-Founder, InsightPlay.AI)  and Pedro Landa (COO, Miela Digital) will outline how the region is emerging as a global technology hub, highlighting the technologies set to fuel future growth while addressing challenges around scalability, infrastructure, and regulation.

After exploring how payments and technology are transforming player transactions, the conversation shifts to how operators are rethinking the wider player journey across digital and physical environments.

The session Building a Unified Casino Experience in an Omnichannel World’ will address the growing pressure on operators to create seamless experiences across retail and digital channels. Experts David Fica (CEO, Landvegas) and Juan Ignacio Juanena (COO, Azar Latino) will outline the operational steps needed to unify payments, loyalty, customer data, and user experience into a connected omnichannel ecosystem.

More than just a conference agenda, SBC Summit Americas will serve as a meeting point for the companies, technologies, and conversations shaping the future of payments and technology across the region.

On the show floor, delegates can connect with major payments and fintech companies, including PayNearMe, Paysafe, Signature Payments, and ElenPAY, while the Payments & Fintech Walk-Around Tour offers direct access to the brands and solutions impacting the region.

Delegates can also take part in payment-focused networking elements, including the Payments & Fintech Exchange, Payments in LATAM Briefing,Crypto Briefing, and the Industry Trends & Emerging Tech speed networking session.

SBC Summit Americas will take place from June 9 to 11, 2026, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
