The Greek government has confirmed that player wagering limitations on online casino and poker verticals will be relaxed.
The government will raise the €2 maximum stake on online casino (slots and table games) to €20, which will benefit industry incumbents.
The rise in maximum wagers, announced by the Hellenic government gazette, will be immediately effective beginning in May 2022 and will also apply to online poker and its linked RNG games. The revisions are the result of the Ministry of Finance’s Year One examination of Greece’s relaunched gaming system.
In addition, the government announced that the jackpot amount on games of chance and slots would be raised from €70,000 to €140,000, up from the current €70,000 ceiling.
