South Korean foreigner-only casino operator Paradise Co Ltd might invest in a Jeju-island hotel to complement its business interests at its existing Paradise Casino Jeju.
That is according to the country’s KB Securities banking group, in commentary in a recent note.
It mentioned the “possibility of aggressive additional investments” by Paradise Co, including Maison Glad Jeju (pictured in a file photo).
Public information shows the circa 510-room hotel – about 15 minutes by road from Paradise Casino Jeju in Jeju City – was built in 1981 but saw an extensive refurbishment completed in 2019.
In 2024, when a Singapore entity was in talks to acquire Maison Glad Jeju, it had a valuation of approximately KRW605 billion (US$405.3 million) according to a report at the time in The Bell, a South Korean financial news outlet.
Paradise Casino Jeju – which does not have its own hotel – is up to 10 minutes by road from Jeju International Airport. The gaming facility has 32 table games, three electronic table games with a total of 20 seats, and 44 slot machines, according to data for 2025 issued this month by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Maison Glad Jeju already appears on the website of Paradise Casino Jeju, with contact details for the hotel directed at casino customers.
KB Securities stated: ”Given that the performance of domestic foreigner-casino competitors in Jeju is rapidly improving, one can expect synergy with Paradise’s Jeju casino if the company invests in the hotel,” [Maison Glad Jeju].
Jeju Sori said in a Monday report, that Maison Glad Jeju’s owner, South Korean conglomerate DL Holdings, planned to sell the property.
Jemin Ilbo, another Jeju news outlet, stated on Tuesday that Paradise Co and DL Holdings were discussing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Maison Glad Jeju, and that there might be progress by July or August this year.
GGRAsia has approached Paradise Co regarding its possible acquisition of Maison Glad Jeju.
Paradise Co recently acquired for KRW210.0 billion, the wing of a hotel near its joint-venture casino resort Paradise City, at Incheon, to boost its hotel capacity for customers that visit Paradise City.
The firm also runs Paradise Walkerhill Casino in Seoul, and a casino in the port city of Busan, in the south of the country.
