Prospective suitors are vying for the victory, with a final decision from the UK’s gambling authorities anticipated as soon as this month.
Flutter Entertainment, the owner of Sky Bet, wrote to the Gambling Commission this week, emphasizing the importance of the contract remaining in the hands of a UK-based firm. The British gambling behemoth has made a bid for control of the National Lottery by purchasing Sisal, a rival in the takeover contest, for £1.6 billion. The deal is expected to close later this year.
