Sports betting concessions will extend until October 31, according to Italy’s Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM).
The decision came into effect after the Ministry of Economy conducted an assessment to “apply a reprieve” on betting licenses. The license was to expire at the end of June.
During Italy’s COVID-19 outbreak last year, the former Giuseppe Conte government barred from taking action on business concessions. Hence it postponed the authorization of licensing renewals until 2021.
They imposed the concessions reprieve as a condition of the government’s ‘Cura Decree’ (Care Decree), which implemented the first economic relief measures for Italian businesses during the peak of the pandemic.
