Following mounting worries about the proliferation of adverts since the new legal framework was implemented last year, Dutch Minister for Legal Protection Franc Weerwind has committed to severely restrict casino advertising.
After Parliament recently adopted a motion calling for an outright ban on gambling advertising proposed by Socialist Party MP Michiel van Nispen, Minister Franc Weerwind has announced ideas for new limitations that are scheduled to become law later this year.
In a letter to Van Nipsen and other lawmakers, the Minister stated that he “would make every effort as soon as feasible to establish further limits on advertising for high-risk games of chance.”
