AGA report: Commercial gaming revenue sets new high of $13.6b in 2Q

Report

Americans not only enjoy gambling, but they do so in record numbers.

According to a report released by the American Gaming Association on Tuesday, commercial gaming revenue in the United States will reach $13.6 billion in the second quarter of 2021. This exceeded the previous high of $11.1 billion, set in the third quarter of 2019.

However, AGA President and CEO Bill Miller stated that, while the numbers are encouraging, the gaming industry is still finding its feet following the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The gaming industry is clearly on its way back,” Miller says. “These quarterly numbers would be a victory lap in any other environment. However, there are still a few puzzle pieces missing. Full recovery necessitates a meaningful return of meetings, business travel, and events, as well as a resurgence of international travel.”
