AGEM conducts a survey of its members ahead of the ICE dates in the United States.

The membership voted to hold a vote on the proposal to postpone the ICE London event in February by two months, to April/May, during the AGEM Monthly Meeting held yesterday in Las Vegas and via Zoom. Members had previously in the session met with representatives from the ICE show, Clarion Events Managing Director Alex Pratt, and Fulwood Media’s Kate Chambers, to discuss the arrangements for the UK exhibition.

Clarion provided data on event registration, travel requirements, and visitor expectations as part of the briefing, but AGEM members agreed that the financial risks were increasing as the event approached a go/no-go deadline. Manufacturers of slot machines stated their fear that the ICE delivery dates were rapidly approaching, and a redline was being drawn in terms of participation. AGEM is conducting a survey of its 170+ members to determine if the event should take place in February as planned, be pushed back several months, or be canceled until 2023. The survey results are coming by the end of the week, although it is expected that members’ preferred option is to push the event back to April/May.
