Crown Resorts is on track to open gaming operations at its US$1.7 billion Sydney resort in the coming months. It will be following the regulator’s approval of the company’s current overhaul.
Philip Crawford, the head of New South Wales’ casino watchdog, said that he believes gambling will begin before October end.
Crown was unfit to run the casino in February. It was after a regulatory report revealed the company facilitated money laundering for years at its other resorts.
Mr Crawford, the chairman of the New South Wales Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority, said Crown accomplished “significant progress” in addressing the concerns brought up in the report.
