The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has ordered the Australian internet service providers to block four other illegal offshore gambling websites.
The illegal sites in the topic are Bao Casino, Pokie Place, Reels of Joy, and Ozwin Casino. The ACMA received many complaints about the sites. Following an investigation, found they were operating in violation of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.
The ACMA took its first blocking request in November 2019 and has since blocked 263 illegal gambling websites.
Besides, the authority began enforcing new illegal offshore gambling rules in 2017, and over 130 illegal services have left the Australian market since then.
Website blocking is one of many enforcement options available to Australian authorities.
According to the ACMA, website blocking is a valuable opportunity to warn the public about illegal gambling services.
One of the measures is to show a warning message whenever someone attempts to access the sites
