Belgian Gaming Commission initiated campaign against illegal online betting

Belgian Gaming Commission

With unlicensed operators contributing 20% of Belgian bets, the Belgian Gaming Commission has launched an “Always Play Legally” campaign. It will help combat illegal gambling sites in the country. The campaign will run until the start of the UEFA Euro 2021 football competition on June 11.

It details which sites have a Belgium license and the operators who have permission to use the Always Play Legally logo. Moreover, it will see the launch of weekly video clips, answering questions players may have about identifying licensed gaming operators.

Players are not always aware of the dangers of unlicensed sites, according to the Belgian Gaming Commission. Hence, Belgium recently reduced the number of permitted sports betting sites from 34 to 31.
