The European Gaming and Betting Association’s (EGBA) bookmakers have agreed to follow the organization’s Code of Conduct regarding responsible advertising during the UEFA Euro 2020 Championship.
The EGBA has reminded all bookmakers that its code of conduct applies across both EU and UK jurisdictions. It is regardless of national standards on advertising practices related to online gambling.
The Brussels-based trade body initially launched the code of conduct last April. It was to ease regulatory concerns about gambling advertising during the height of Europe’s COVID-19 pandemic. The EU’s ‘Audio-Visual Media’ directive guided the development of the code.
