BT has confirmed that it is discussing the sale of its sports broadcasting unit BT Sport, ‘with several strategic partners.’
According to The Telegraph, the broadcaster has hired an investment bank, Lazard. It is to look into a partial sale, with Amazon, Disney, and DAZN all having held talks with BT. However, an anonymous British broadcaster is said to be leading the race.
“BT can confirm that early discussions are being held with various select strategic partners. It will help to explore ways to generate investment, strengthen our sports business, and also assist in taking it to the next stage in its growth,” the company said in a statement.
