Columbus Exposition and Racing (CER) and Caesars Entertainment have confirmed CER’s choice of Caesars Entertainment to develop and operate a Harrah’s casino and racetrack in Columbus, Nebraska.
The $75 million casino development is conveniently located off Highway 81 in Columbus. It will include a one-mile horse racing track, a 40,000-square-foot casino, and a sportsbook with more than 400 slot machines. It will also have a restaurant and retail space.
“We are glad to welcome Harrah’s to Nebraska,” said CER Managing Partner Tom Jackson. “Also, when it came to selecting a Casino Operator Partner, Harrah’s brand recognition and established code of commitment to its employees, customers, and the communities in which it operates proved an easy choice.
“When Nebraska voters approved racetrack gaming, we knew our experience in the casino industry and our commitment to horse racing. That makes Harrah’s a perfect fit,” said Tom Reeg, CEO of Caesars Entertainment. “We are glad to create a new Harrah’s experience in Columbus and connect it to our Caesars Rewards network.”
