Camelot intends to contest a Czech company’s win of the UK National Lottery’s operational contract.

UK National Lottery

Camelot will file a High Court appeal this week, alleging that the UK Gambling Commission breached the law when it awarded Czech millionaire Karel Komarek the lucrative contract to handle the National Lottery.

The existing National Lottery operator is expected to file legal action against the Gambling Commission in the coming days, according to the Telegraph. There will be a judicial review as well as a procurement challenge before the High Court.

Camelot’s appeal is expected to revolve around charges that the regulator modified the criteria after Camelot won a scoring system used to evaluate bids.
