The Ontario provincial government anounced on July 9, 2021 that certain businesses, such as casinos, can reopen. Great Canadian Gaming Corporation will take the necessary steps to reopen its Ontario properties on July 16.
The company also intends to open the casino at the Pickering Casino Resort in the near future with the rest of the resort opening in 2022. The Company’s Ontario properties will reopen with reduced gaming capacity. This is to reflect physical distancing requirements under the Province’s current health and safety framework.
“I’m very happy that the province has reached this milestone. It is also good that Great Canadian is in a position to re-hire thousands of team members,” said Terrance Doyle, Interim CEO of the Company. “I want to thank our entire team for their perseverance and patience over the last 17 months. I look forward to working with them and welcoming our guests back to our Ontario properties.
