According to the Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego (SJC), Chile’s gaming regulator, the three casinos which operated in June generated CLP$1.38 billion ($1.8 million).
Enjoy Antofagasta, Dreams Punta Arenas and Colchagua Casino were the only casinos to reopen which was only open for an average of 19 days. They generated GGR of CLP$3.81 billion as a group. This accounted for 81.8% of the revenue generated by the same properties in June 2019.
Moreover, attendance at the three casinos was 36,642 in June, a 54.7 percent decrease from the previous month. However, spend per person increased by 45 percent to CLP$104,408. Despite restrictions on attendance and opening hours, Enjoy Antofagasta generated the same GGR as before the pandemic. It paid CLP$815.9 million in taxes.
