Following the recent Cabinet reshuffle, Chris Philp has been named as the UK’s Gambling Minister.
Philp was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport last week (DCMS).
Following comments he made in his new role regarding the independent report into the regulation of BetIndex, his appointment as Gambling Minister was confirmed today (September 22). The Gambling Commission was found to have been too slow in regulating collapsed operator Football Index and to have been unaware that the operator offered a product it may not have been licensed to offer for more than three years, according to the report.
