The municipality of Arcachon, in the Gironde region of France, is considering relocating its casino. It also hopes to add a luxury hotel to the mix with two years left on its casino concession.
On May 1, city officials announced a call for bids for a “diagnostic, feasibility, and programming study relating to a reconfiguration project for the buildings of the Casino and the Palais des congress for the realization of a real estate complex consisting of a casino of games, a conference palace, and a luxury hotel.” The mission’s goal is to determine the project’s technical, economic, commercial, legal, and functional feasibility.’
The desire to relocate the casino arises on a regular basis. The last time a project like this came up in October 2017. It was just before the launch of a new public service delegation in 2018. The Partouche group got a five-year license, which will expire on December 31, 2023.
