According to the French gaming regulator, the Autorité Nationale des Jeux (ANJ), 31% of French football fans will be able to place bets during Euro 2020.
The regulator examined past and present data to compile a survey indicating how popular sports betting could be in the tournament.
According to the ANJ, growing support for sports betting was confirmed in the first quarter of 2021. There was a 79 percent increase in stakes and a 29 percent increase in sports bettors.
There were 2.5 million active sports betting accounts during this time period. The majority were men under the age of 35. Also, the most common monthly expenditure was €45 ($53), with football being the most popular sport.
