When Gameacon CEO Ben Fox conceived of the “Comic-Con for Gamers,” he knew that a celebrity presence would be required. In contrast to Comic-Con, where fans can see the person behind the character ready to sign an autograph, video gamers recognise someone by their voice.
Veronica Taylor, the voice of Ash Catchum in Pokemon, does not have a face to match her celebrity. However, she is a star among Pokemon fans.
“The greatest honor is to spend time with the fans because they are truly like my family,” Taylor says… Coachella Valley gamers can meet Taylor at Gameacon, a weekend convention Aug. 14-15 at the Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa in Rancho Mirage.
