French casino group Joa has opened its 33rd casino with the opening of the Saint-Laurent en Grandvaux in the Jura region of Eastern France.
This is the group’s second casino in the region, having purchased Emerald’s venue in Lons le Saunier.
The Joa Casino, located in Haut Jura Regional Natural Park and close to Switzerland, offers a diverse leisure area.
The Lyon Group has put €8.5 million into the 2,500- sq meter building. It will initially house 75 slot machines, including 62 video reels, seven traditional reels, and six video poker machines.
The casino, according to Joa, is a “new generation” casino whose architecture allows for perfect integration into the natural setting. It embodies the brand’s goal of changing people’s perceptions of casinos.
“In light of the health measures in place for this deconfinement, the establishment has set itself a lower tonnage than the measures in force,” said Laurent Jourdain, Director General of Gaming at the venue. Outside of the covid period, we must not accommodate more than 35% of the total capacity.”
