Keno Operator Sues Lincoln Race Course Over Casino Expansion Plans

Race Course

The company that operates keno games at the Lincoln Race Course in Nebraska filed a lawsuit against the horse track.

Big Red Keno, headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, operates keno games at the Lincoln Race Course. The keno company also operates the lottery games at Horsemen’s Park in Omaha. However, the company claims that Big Red’s operating contract for Lincoln has resulted in legal action against the facility.

Nebraska voters approved a ballot referendum last November to amend the state constitution to allow commercial gambling at the state’s six-horse racetracks.

Big Red claims that its operating agreement to run keno games at Lincoln includes a provision granting it exclusive rights to any new gaming at the racetrack, with the exception of pickle cards.

Lincoln Race Course is one of three Nebraska horse racetracks that will collaborate on casino expansion with WarHorse Gaming.

Big Red Keno will suffer as a result of Nebraska’s legalization of commercial gambling at the state’s six horse racetracks. Omaha Exposition says the company can keep its keno machines inside the venue. Still, Big Red wants to be compensated for alleged damages resulting from not being the casino developer and operator.
