The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) reported gross gaming revenue of MOP$10.4 billion in Macau through May. It is an increase from MOP$8.4 billion in April.
The figure also represented a 482.2 percent increase over May 2020. It was when Macau recorded a GGR of only MOP$1.76 billion during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to DICJ figures, Macau recorded a GGR of MOP$42.4 billion in the first five months of 2021, a 28.7 percent increase over the same period last year.
The increased revenue comes as Macau welcomes an increasing number of visitors from mainland China. It also includes a spike during the five-day Golden Week at the beginning of May.
