Metro Manila will extend the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) until September 7th.
MECQ was to last until August 31. But due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases, the capital and nearby provinces are still under lockdown. There is also a curfew in effect for the affected areas.
The government, on the other hand, is planning to implement granular lockdowns. This would target specific outbreak zones rather than entire provinces.
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) confirmed on Friday that the Philippines will accept new casino license applicants, following the lifting of the January 2018 moratorium, which effectively prohibited the establishment of new casino venues.
