The Mexican government’s ruling party [Morena] has proposed an update to the federal gambling law. The proposal is in order to give the industry more benefits and control regulations at a national level.
Governance and Population Commission received the proposal. They will consider it soon to update current regulations and aid in the fight against illegal gambling.
Congressman Erik Morales of Morena argued in a speech that the current law “is outside the national and international context regarding gambling regulation. It is because of its prohibitive nature, which is hampering the industry’s growth.”
