On October 1, 2017, MGM Resorts International will donate land for a public memorial to the Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting.

The two acres of land will house a memorial near the Mandalay Bay Hotel, where the festival concert took place. It resulted in a massacre that injured more than 860 people and killed 58.

“Having a permanent memorial commemorating the victims and heroes of October 1 is critical to our community’s ongoing healing,” MGM said. We are glad to donate a portion of the Village site to help bring that memorial to fruition.”

“It was the right thing to do, and we’re all very grateful,” said Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson. They are also a part of this community. That, more than anything else, demonstrates that their heart is where it should be.”
