New Zealand – SkyCity offered more time to complete New Zealand International Convention Centre

Under the New Zealand International Convention Centre Project and Licensing Agreement, the New Zealand Government and SkyCity have agreed to extend the long-stop date for completion of the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) project from 2 January 2025 to 15 December 2027. (NZICC Agreement).

SkyCity’s obligation to operate the NZICC under the NZICC Agreement will also be extended based on the date the NZICC is completed. SkyCity’s regulatory concessions under the NZICC Agreement remain unchanged.

“Fletcher Construction Company Limited’s latest draught program indicates completion of the NZICC in late 2024. Still, SkyCity believes it is prudent to have a buffer between the program date and long stop date,” SkyCity said. SkyCity and Fletcher Construction are still working hard to complete the NZICC in accordance with the NZICC Agreement. SkyCity will continue to collaborate with Fletcher Construction in order to finish the project as soon as possible.”
