Sands China Ltd, a Macau-based casino operator, issued a statement distancing itself from a fraud online gambling website that is using the company’s name. The site is based out of Guangdong Province and goes by the name “Sands Macao.”
“Sands Online Gambling Corp is using our company’s property name and trademarks without our permission,” said Sands China. It added that the company “does not engage in online gambling activities and pursues all reports of trademark violation.”

They added that the company “does not engage in any online gambling activities and pursues all reports of trademark violation.”
“All websites claiming to offer online gaming that uses our trademarks are fraud. They should be reported to the appropriate authorities right away.”
The statement came in after Guangdong police began investigating two cases of online gambling business. One of them is the Sands Macao, operating since 2020 and has illegally exploited the brand name.
The group allegedly recruited mainland Chinese residents and sent them abroad to develop online gambling games. And provide customer service, enabling mainland players to participate in cross-border gambling.
Moreover, China has recently begun enforcing its cross-border gambling ban, including punishing anyone involved in the practice. The government also compiled a list of foreign tourist destinations that hurt Chinese citizens.
