Scientific Games announced on Monday that it has agreed to acquire the digital content provider Sideplay Entertainment. The agreement will broaden Scientific Games’ iLottery and eInstant content portfolio.
Moreover, the acquisition will allow the Las Vegas-based company to increase its market share in digital lottery markets. It also brought Sideplay’s library of content to iLottery programs around the world.
“Sideplay’s highly experienced digital game developers have a proven track record of delivering exceptional iLottery content to market quickly,” said Pat McHugh, Chief Executive Officer of Scientific Games Lottery Group, in a statement.
Scientific Games launched the first digital instant game in the United States in 2014. It is also the exclusive distributor of Sideplay’s content for North American iLottery programs, including the Pennsylvania Lottery and Loto-Québec.
