Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal has joined WynnBet, part of Wynn Resorts Ltd.’s interactive division, as a pitchman and adviser. He now becomes the latest celebrity to endorse the fast-growing business of sports betting.
Also, according to the parties, O’Neal will appear prominently in WynnBet advertising, attend in-person fan events, and advise the company on its offerings. The 49-year-old basketball hall of famer has worked as a celebrity endorser for companies from Pepsi to Carnival Cruise Line. He worked as a sports commentator, anchor, rapper, and DJ.
Sports betting has grown in US since the Supreme Court allowed states outside Nevada to offer such wagers in 2018. According to the American Gaming Association, more than half of them now do.
