Sportsbooks: There is a new trend in the world of sports betting that has nothing to do with money lines, point spreads, or totals.
When the Supreme Court ruled in May 2018 that states could decide whether to allow sports betting, we all expected sports radio and television to produce gambling-related content. It would target an underserved audience and generate revenue through advertising and sponsorship.
However, some unexpected branches have grown from the sports-betting tree of life. Sportsbooks aren’t just providing facts and figures; they’re also creating their own content to compete in an already crowded sports-media landscape.
In March, DraftKings acquired Brent Musburger’s Vegas Sports Information Network (VSiN).
