Suncity Group is planning to set up its own hotel brand. It will most likely debut as part of the company’s $1 billion hotels and casino development in Entertainment City, Manila.
Inside Asian Gaming understands that the hotel brand will become a consistent brand across all Suncity properties. The brand’s first hotel, scheduled to open in late 2023, will be located in Manila’s Westside City Resorts World.
Suncity held a preview opening of its first integrated resort project, Hoiana, near Da Nang, Vietnam, last year. It plans to hold a Grand Opening once the pandemic eases.
It is also finalizing plans for Tigre de Cristal’s Phase 2 expansion in the Primorye Entertainment Zone near Vladivostok, Russia. Summit Ascent Holdings, a Hong Kong-listed company, owns 77.5 percent of Tigre de Cristal. 69.6 percent of it is owned by Suncity.
Suntrust Home Developers Inc, a local Philippines entity in which Suncity acquired a 51 percent stake in 2019 as part of a three-way agreement with Philippines construction giant Megaworld Corporation and Resorts World Manila operator Travellers International Hotel Group, is leading the Westside City development.
The project will include 400 gaming tables and 1,200 slot machines, as well as 400 five-star rooms in Suncity’s hotel.
During not only the pandemic but also other industry headwinds, Suncity’s long-term confidence in and plans for the pan-Asian IR and hospitality market appears to demonstrate Suncity’s long-term confidence in and plans for the pan-Asian IR and hospitality market.
