The launch of Resorts World Las Vegas saw a good – but not impressive turnout

Resorts World Las Vegas

Resorts World Las Vegas (RWLV) is now officially open, though some of its amenities are still in the works. The casino resort to open on the Las Vegas Strip had a modest grand opening, but it was not as large as others.

Despite the relatively small turnout, Scott Sibella, president of RWLV, said the crowd last Thursday was “truly incredible.” He also stated that the first resort opening on the Strip in over a decade was a monumental accomplishment and that the opening night exceeded all expectations.

Genting Group of Malaysia built RWLV on the site of the now-demolished Stardust casino. It’s near the small Slots-A-Fun casino and the 1960s Circus Circus on the Strip’s northwest end. The new property has raised hopes that it will lead to the recovery of that section of the Strip.

RWLV has 40 dining and drinking establishments, nine swimming pools, and many luxury shops within its red exterior. As the property settles, the resort’s executives have stated that there are already plans to expand into its vacant spaces.
