According to GAMSTOP, the UK gambling self-exclusion scheme, eight out of ten players have stopped or reduced their gambling habits since registering with its services.
Sonnet, a research firm provided the headline figure to GAMSTOP. It was a result of an independent evaluation of player self-exclusion outcomes.
According to the survey responses of over 3,300 GAMSTOP users, 84 of participants felt safer from gambling-related harms.
Furthermore, 80% of participants stated that GAMSTOP had delivered on their intended outcomes. They added whether it was to stop gambling completely, take a break, or reduce their gambling expenditure.
