Workers at Twin River Casino/in Bally’s Lincoln, Rhode Island, represented by General Teamsters Local 251, are dissatisfied that they have yet to be recalled to their jobs following a lengthy layoff.
Twin Rivers’ gaming revenue and guest capacity increased proportionally after Rhode Island lifted all restrictions related to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Workers who contributed significantly to the casino’s success and who have been hardworking employees deserve to get such treatment.
“It is unfortunate that corporate profits get more priority over people, as Twin River has clearly demonstrated by not returning its valuable workers to their previous positions,” Taibi said. “It is disgusting that working Americans in Rhode Island are having their surplus labor value ignored. They’re going up against the house.”
The employees are like the casino’s ambassadors. And they are usually the first employees to make contact with visitors and guests.
