Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot confirmed that the deadline for responding to the casino Request for Proposal (RFP) is now on Friday, October 29. This extension provides potential bidders with additional time to fully assess the Chicago casino opportunity, conduct additional due diligence, assemble more competitive bid packages, and explore financing options.
“This historic casino project has the potential to increase our city’s economic vibrancy and strength. It is by providing sustainable, well-paying jobs to residents from underrepresented backgrounds. I will also create a world-class casino-resort that attracts visitors from all over,” Mayor Lightfoot said.
“By extending the deadline for interested bidders, the City will be able to collect many robust and transformative proposals. I am also looking forward to working closely with whichever team is ultimately responsible to develop Chicago’s first-ever casino.”
