US – Lucky Lady Card Room’s licence has been revoked due to illegal gambling

The Lucky Lady Card Room in San Diego got its licence revoked due to a 2016 illegal bookmaking operation allegation.

The case against Lucky Lady Card Room has been settled, according to California Attorney General Rob Bonta. The cardroom owner’s gambling licence will be revoked and he will also pay $125,000 in penalties and $50,000 to reimburse the California Department of Justice for its investigation. Lucky Lady closed in March 2020 due to COVID-19 and will now remain closed until further notice.

“Anyone who gambles understands that there are rules to every game,” Attorney General Bonta said. “And if you don’t follow the rules, you pay the price. We must take action and enforce the law when a person decides that profits are more important than the law.”
